While working for the Facilities Information and Technology Services Department at OSU I was given the opportunity advance my Revit skills, practice field verification and obtain a better underrating of the construction of buildings. The FITS department at OSU is working on an initiative to create BIM models of all OSU buildings to track information such as square footage and what each space is currently used for. It was a part of my job to take CAD plans and use them to field verify spaces inside each building to insure accuracy. While field verifying I was also required to document all the rooms and room number with photos. With the use of the CAD plans, photos, and use of an online database of architecture drawings, I was required to create a BIM model for my assigned building. At my time with the FITS department I was able to complete four buildings that when through various adults to ensure accuracy.
